Inanda, Durban — Following the historic visit by Yale University to its offices, the Mayibuyi Youth Organisation delegation, in partnership with Ms. Amaeka Affiong from U.S.-based Yale University, visited Inanda Seminary School on 02 September 2026 to conduct a Youth Empowerment programme on available learning opportunities across Africa and internationally.
The programme forms part of Mayibuyi Youth Organisation’s core mission to bridge the gap between township youth and global opportunities through education, mentorship, and career guidance.
Empowering Girls Through Global Opportunities
Inanda Seminary School, one of South Africa’s leading schools for girls with a proud history of academic excellence, hosted the delegation for an interactive empowerment session.
The session focused on:
- Available learning and scholarship opportunities across Africa and internationally.
- How to apply to top universities, including Yale University in the United States.
- Leadership, self-confidence, and mentorship for young women.
- Pathways to address social challenges through education.
Ms. Amaeka Affiong shared valuable insights on international admissions, leadership development, and the importance of young African women taking up space in global institutions. The Mayibuyi Youth Organisation team complemented this by motivating learners to stay focused, work hard, and become responsible citizens. Learners were encouraged to dream beyond their communities and view education as a tool to transform both their lives and broader society.

On behalf of the school, Mr. Peter Delisle welcomed the Mayibuyi Youth delegation and Ms. Amaeka Affiong, extending his gratitude for the extraordinary work being done.
