Mayibuyi Youth Organization recently recognized Mrs. Saroj Govender for her invaluable contribution to the success of the Peace In Africa event.
Mr. Siviwe Benya, the founder of Mayibuyi Youth Organisation and President of the Peace In Africa Forum, awarded Mrs. Govender during the Discovery Vitality Sporting Event in Durban, held in May for Africa Month.
The event brought together thousands of participants from around the globe, uniting in the celebration of peace and unity. Mrs. Govender was invited as an official guest, where her leadership and unwavering commitment to community service were acknowledged by Mr. Benya.
In his speech, Mr. Benya highlighted Mrs. Govender’s 30 years of leadership experience in KwaZulu-Natal, particularly in the Phoenix community, emphasizing her resilience and dedication to empowering others. He praised her as a true servant leader.
Mrs. Govender expressed her deep gratitude for the recognition, reflecting on her journey and the importance of collective efforts to achieve lasting peace.
The ceremony, hosted by Mayibuyi Youth Organization, also included the presentation of a certificate and a gift voucher to Mrs. Govender, celebrating her significant role in ensuring the event’s success.
