In celebration of Nelson Mandela Month, Mayibuyi Youth Organisation has generously donated fresh boxes of fruit, juice bottles, and water to Amandlethu Secondary School, located in Amauta, Inanda, north of Durban. This charitable gesture comes at a crucial time as the school prepares for an upcoming sporting tournament scheduled to take place tomorrow in KwaMashu.
The school’s principal expressed immense gratitude for the positive initiative demonstrated by Mayibuyi Youth Organisation. The donation not only provides essential nourishment for the students but also boosts their morale as they get ready for the tournament.
Mr. Siviwe Benya, the founder and chairman of Mayibuyi Youth Organisation, has pledged to place special emphasis on supporting Amandlethu Secondary School. His commitment is driven by the need to improve learning conditions, which are adversely affected by the surrounding environmental challenges. The school community faces significant issues, including high unemployment rates, rampant crime, poor living conditions, and a lack of infrastructural development, all of which impact both students and educators.
Mr. Benya stated, “If community-based organizations and business forums collaborate to support our educators, School Governing Bodies (SGBs), and students, by contributing whatever resources we can, we will be able to change the lives of our future leaders – the learners. Together, we can build a united and strong nation.”
Mayibuyi Youth Organisation firmly believes in the adage, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and is committed to fostering community involvement in education to create a better future for all.
